The family announces with sorrow his passing on Friday October 15^th, 2021 at the age of 54 years after a year long battle with cancer. He was a loving husband of 26 years to Cindy (née Gates) and devoted father to Aidan and Brianna. Precious son of Hugh O’Gorman and the late Patricia (née Richards). Beloved brother of Andrew (Tracy), Elinor, Kieron O’Gorman and Stephanie Richards and uncle to Kayleigh & Nicholas (Colleen), Alexander, Jerome, Louis & Faith. Dear son in-law of Brian W. Gates and the late Carmen (née L’Italien), brother in-law of Derek Gates (Darlene) and uncle to Tyler, Dylan & Brandon Gates.

Hugh loved entertaining his friends and family with Canada Day parties, beer tastings or just hanging out in his backyard oasis. As a foodie, he was an afficionado of making pizzas and worked hard to perfect his technique.

Hugh worked in telecommunications for over 25 years, most recently with Ribbon Communications as a Senior Product Support Manager, a career he truly enjoyed. This provided him with opportunities to work and travel internationally, developing lasting friendships with colleagues in Turkey, India and North America.

Hugh joined the West Carleton Soccer Club 10 years ago, volunteering his time to mentoring and encouraging young referees as the Director of Referees.

He spent the last couple months of his life traveling with his family from coast to coast of Canada making memories to cherish.
