Norma Hennessy “Norma Moore”

May 18, 1960 – Jan 7, 2023

It is with heavy hearts that we announce Norma’s unexpected passing on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at her beloved cottage, with the love of her life Dan Hennessy by her side. After a courageous and lengthy battle with debilitating migraines, she is now at peace.

Treasured Mom to Brianna and Jesse, and stepmom to Jennifer and Jason. Sister of Steve (Shirley), Brian (Anne-Marie), Gordy (Guylaine Perreault), Betty (Allan Graydon) and Dave (Sandra). Sister-in-law of Vera Forster, Orm Hennessy (Carol) and Carole Hennessy. Predeceased by parents Mel and Agnes Moore (née Villeneuve) and brother Ken Moore. Remembered with fondness by her many nephews and nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces, cousins, aunts and uncles, and by so many longtime friends who meant the world to her. Norma was an enormous inspiration to those who knew her well. She brought light and love into each of our lives, and showed us how the small things are important in creating and sharing a beautiful life. She was a high academic achiever and athlete with an awesome sense of humour. Norma enjoyed her time with friends and family, sharing stories, laughter, breakfasts in restaurant booths, cross-border shopping and her special place in Ecuador. After her illness forced her home for much of her time, she enjoyed doing puzzles overlooking the lake and especially watching the birds at her nearby feeder. Hers was a life well lived, and she leaves a legacy of love and laughter in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.

According to her wishes, she will be cremated and her ashes interred at St Patrick’s Parish Cemetery in Fallowfield, Ottawa. A celebration of life will be held later in the year. Donations to Migraine Canada would be appreciated so that some day, people suffering from these debilitating episodes can find treatments that work.
